Many parents pray for a specific sex of their baby when they find out they’re expecting. Brandon and I have never cared. We just wanted healthy babies. So when we found out we were having another boy, there was no disappointment on our end. Just excitment and thanksgiving for another blessing from God! How honored were we to be trusted by God to raise two Kingdom boys into Kingdom men! 🙌🏾 Being that we planned on having more kids and close enough together at that, we kept EVERYTHING! And boy were we thankful that we did! No pun intended!🤣 So what exactly do you ask for when you have everything? DIAPERS, WIPES AND GIFT CARDS! And we did just that. We didn’t have another baby shower, because in our new home in San Antonio, and the way trips for the 9 months had been planned, there was no opportunity to go back home and have a “sprinkle.” So we sent out a message to our closest friends and family:
We were so thankful for those who blessed us as we prepared for Elisha’s arrival. Once he got here I had some “ah ha” moments 💡🧠 of things that we needed for our second boy that hadn’t dawned on me until we were in the present.
1. 0-3 month clothes👕👖- Elisha was only 5oz smaller than Duce, but those clothes fit a 3 month old and not a newborn/0-2 months. So we had to buy Elisha some shirts/onesies that fit so he didn’t look swallowed in the clothes because they were too big. I have some mom friends tell me their boys were completely different sizes throughout so they had to buy all new things! Thankfully that hasn’t been our case!🙌🏾
2. SOCKS!🧦 Elisha’s feet were skinny and narrow. He couldn’t fit any of the socks we had saved because Duce had chubby feet.
3. Diapers, wipes, diaper genie trash bags, breastmilk storage bags and body wash!🧷🍼🗑🧼 We asked for these because you can never have enough. They are items that you will constantly use in the months and years to come.
**Bonus** A must purchase for me this time around was a DIAPER BACKPACK🎒! It provided more room for items for 2 kids and mommy, internal organization, and easier transport when we were out and about. Throwing a backpack on real quick while you baby wear the baby and hold the toddler’s hand is the way to go! I don’t have to worry about a diaper bag falling off my shoulder or occupying a hand that I need for one of the boys or myself.
I hope this list helps you to prepare for your repeat boy or girl! Or gift to a friend or loved one. We used our gift cards to purchase these items. What items did you realize you needed after your baby #2 came? What did you requests from friends and family at your 2nd or 3rd shower? Share below in the comments! I cannot wait to read!
